There has been a great amount of activity in the last few years with new equipment and clothing for the U.S. military, most specifically with new camouflage patterns introduced by the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army. While the Marine Corps has made a strong effort to maintain restrictive control on who is making their pattern, the U.S. Army has been much more receptive to allowing companies make clothing and gear in the new Army Digital Camouflage pattern. With this more open attitude, Rothco entered into this product area in a big way in our 2006 Supplement with scores of new ACU and Army Digital camouflage products.

Our ACU Uniform is carefully modeled after the authentic army uniform in every detail. They are constructed of a 5.9 ounce Cotton/Poly Rip-Stop which, when compared side-by-side with the current issue garment, is indistinguishable from the government Nylon/Cotton version. This is an excellent low-priced, high-value alternative for reservists and soldiers looking for a more reasonable priced garment or an extra set of ACU’s. Airsoft players who look for authenticity down to the smallest detail are also good customers for this. The perfect accessory for these uniforms is our ACU Digital Camouflage Embroidered Rank Insignia. They have a hook and loop backing for use with the new ACU Uniforms and come in 23 different rank.

Another option is our economically-priced Army Digital Camouflage BDU’s for both adults and kids. This is a 7.2 ounce Cotton/Poly Twill blend which is durable as well as shrink and fade resistant. The kids items sell especially well wherever families of military personnel are found and will also be a strong seller at Halloween around the United States. The adult version is excellent for paintball and other outdoor pursuits as well as with those long-time BDU wearers who want to wear the latest military camouflage. We have even added the Army Digital Camouflage to our cutting edge pre-washed Vintage line with 8 pocket pants and 6 pocket cargo shorts. The washed material makes the pants comfortable, soft, and very contemporary. They make an excellent casual pant, and due to their relaxed fit, an excellent pant for any active pass-time.

One of the items most in demand by soldiers has been our Army Digital Camouflage ECWCS Parka and Trousers made with Hyvat, a waterproof and breathable membrane, made from the same chemical family as Goretex. We have had some very enthusiastic feedback from soldiers who have preferred the Rothco parka to other versions available. This pairs perfectly with our black military ECWCS Polar Fleece Jacket/Liner, a very close facsimile of NSN 8415-01-461-8356. The Fleece Jacket/Liner has been such a great success that we are adding this in a Foliage Green color for the fall.
