Your clients don’t have to serve in the military to appreciate one of the hottest trends of the season. “There really is no market that doesn’t buy camo and military at some point,” says John Ottaviano, director of sales and marketing at Rothco (asi/83708). Children and young adults are great targets for this style, as well as older consumers, many of whom are military veterans. However, the market isn’t limited to men.
“Pink camouflage items are extremely popular for breast cancer awareness promotions,” Ottaviano says. “They’re worn by women, men and children of all ages at awareness events and charity walks.” Other markets include rock music promos and corporate sales boot camps.
The enduring popularity of military-inspired clothing and accessories can be attributed to many factors. “The clothing portrays a strong, athletic image and is also highly functional,” Ottaviano says. “For 2015, the military boonie (bucket) hat is off the charts in popularity, especially with the street and skate crowd. And the Air Force MA-1 Flight (Bomber) Jacket was very hot last winter and will be even more so this fall and winter. It has a clean, athletic, muscular look that really enhances the male figure.” View the online article here.
